Cuchi-Cuchi is a great place to have a drink and dessert, and check out sexy and sometimes absurd wait staff outfits. Unlike Dali, its older sister restaurant, Cuchi-Cuchi branches out beyond Spanish cuisine, and serves tapas (appetizer size dishes) from all over the world. Unfortunately, the food pales in comparison with Dali. We started our meal with a wonderful blood orange martini and blackberry cosmopolitan. Both drinks were made with real fruit puree and were absolutely delicious.

When we put in our order, the waitress informed us that they serve tapas in several courses, which we happily agreed to as to avoid having to taste 5 dishes at once. Unfortunately, they served a fish dish and a meat dish in each course. Having lamb and mussels at the same time was not the best way to enjoy either dish. The sole on the bone was moist and tender and one of the most successful dishes we tried in spite of the overpowering red pepper sauce served with it. The mussels were flavorful and the garlicky broth was a great dip for bread. The scallops were well searched, but served with dry and lifeless bread stuffing. The menu indicated that they came with mushroom stuffing, but mushrooms were few and barely noticeable. The pork was very tender, but served lukewarm. The lamb was completely unseasoned and overcooked.

Being somewhat disappointed with the food and still craving something yummy, we ordered French Banana Bread for dessert. No disappointments there. This decadent dish consisted of Banana Bread fried as French toast and topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and caramel sauce. Our experience made us wonder why this place is so hard to get into. They don't take reservations on weekends and the wait can be over an hour. Must be great alcohol and sexy waitresses.
